Winchester Model 1885 Highwall Schuetzen rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1912. 30" blued No. 4 weight octagon barrel marked on left barrel flat with Winchester 2 line address and caliber "22 SHORT", fitted with Lyman Globe front sight with added sunshade and Winchester telescope blocks with Winchester proof mark in front of rear base. Barrel has number "348" in front of barrel weight. Blued takedown coil spring pistol grip action with Schuetzen double set triggers and Fancy "S" style finger lever with non-factory mounted Redfield side mounted adjustable peep sight. Deluxe walnut checkered pistol grip Schuetzen style stock with cheekpiece, Winchester grip cap and matching numbered to stock Helm buttplate. Non-factory matching deluxe checkered forearm with added Pope Style palm rest base. Cody Research has no information on configuration except serial number application of April 19, 1912. CONDITION: 90% original barrel blue with edge wear. 98% reapplied action blue with light handling marks. Wood has been cleaned with checkering retraced with forearm being a total replacement.
