Uncommon German "System Aydt" takedown Schuetzen rifle in 8.15x46R, made by "C.G. HAENEL, SUHL". Barrel is marked "8.15x46R NORM" and "Boehler Spezial" (which indicates is made from a special steel). Barrel is also marked "272231", "10/30", "7.8mm", with the standard "BUG" proofs. The serial number "272231" is on the barrel, block, and inside the hand guard. No import marks. Octagonal blued fluted barrel has the proper front sight, and is the style with four various sight posts, which are turned with a key. Barrel has the 11mm sight grooves. Target diopter sight with large disc is mounted on the rear tang, and is fully adjustable. Rifle has adjustable set triggers. Receiver, trigger guard, floorplate assembly, butt plate, and sight assembly have case hardening and. High quality walnut stock has checkering and a large Tyrolean cheekpiece. Walnut forearm. Butt plate is of the standard Schuetzen style. Sling swivels are mounted on the barrel and stock. CONDITION: Rifle is overall excellent and retains approximately 95% of its original blued finish, and 80-85% of its case hardening. Stock has light dings and scratches, and light damage to the stock checkering. Bore is bright, set triggers function properly, and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ
