Manufactured from 1943 to 1945 as a .22 LR caliber training pistol for US Armed Forces during World War II. In military fashion this example is finished with durable parkerization and features a 4 - 1/2" heavy barrel marked on top "PROPERTY OF U.S.A.", fixed front sight, drift adjustable square notch rear sight, exposed hammer, frame marked with "PROPERTY OF / U.S." and Ordnance crossed cannons stamp, and checkered black hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Very good. Vast majority of phosphate finish retained with some silvering at muzzle and high edges in addition to handling marks. Grips have a few nicks and marks, especially around base. Very good bore with strong rifling. Fine mechanics. BAS
