Wolverine semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Whitney Firearms Co. in Hartford, CT. The left side of the frame is stamped "WHITNEY", with the right side bearing stampings stipulating the manufacturer information and caliber designation. Features include a black anodized finish, cast aluminum frame, 4 - 5/8" barrel, blade front sight, square notch rear sight, as well as 2-piece checkered plastic grips. Pistol is accompanied by its original factory box, which is hand-scribed to match and contains its original yellow molded plastic insert and 50-round box of Federal Hi-Power .22 LR ammunition. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original anodized finish, exhibiting some scattered handling marks as well as a few small spots of wear overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered superficial handling marks and a couple minor nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Box is very good, showing some light wear to the corners. Plastic mold insert shows a few cracks and holes, but is otherwise serviceable. With only an estimated 13,371 of these pistols ever produced, this makes for a fine example of a Space Age manufactured Whitney Wolverine semi-automatic pistol that is accompanied with its original factory box.
