Smith & Wesson Model 53 double action revolver. Made 1961. "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel, with the caliber marked on the right. Company trademark and address on the right side of the frame. Matching serials on the butt and frame. Round steel barrel with full rib. Ramped blade front sight and adjustable U-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Case colored serrated trigger and spurred hammer. Hammer has an added safety. Checkered wood target grips with "S&W" monograms. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent with light wear. Good bore with strong rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Light drag line on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
