Colt 1878 Frontier double action revolver. Made 1879. Company address is faintly visible on the top of the barrel. "44 CF" marked on the left side of the trigger guard. An illegible name is engraved on the backstrap. Round barrel with blade front sight and V-notch rear. Metal was renickeled at some point. Sling stud and swivel attached to the butt. Checkered, brown hard rubber grips. Includes attached leather lanyard. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its re-applied finish with general wear. Some brown patina forming on the edges. Some light surface rust is visible on the right side of the frame. Left grip panel has a few handling marks. Right grip panel has a chip out of the rear edge. Bore has some very light frosting but retains crisp rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder has some side-side movement. Mechanically fine. JWA
