Cub semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Astra in Spain before 1958. Left side of frame is stamped "Unceta yCompania S.A."" followed by three Spanish proof, with the right side bearing "ASTRA" at the tang and "Cal..22" short" above the trigger. Butt is marked "MADE IN SPAIN". Frame and slide are silver plated, featuring scroll engraving and floral motifs on a light punch dot background. Trigger and hammer are nickel plated. Grips are comprised of 2-piece faux pearl panels. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, and barrel. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their silver plated finish, exhibiting age related discoloration all around. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Faux pearl grip panels show some scattered handling marks, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A nice example of a factory engraved and silver plated Astra Cub pistol. MLW
