Colt 1917 Fitz Special double action revolver. Made 1919. This gun was turned into a Fitz Special at some point, cutting the front of the trigger guard out, bobbing the hammer, and shortening the barrel. U.S. Army markings have been removed from the butt, in addition to the lanyard stud hole being filled in. Left side of the barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 45". Rampant Colt pony visible on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame and crane. Blade front sight and U-notch rear. Finish has been completely reblued. Oil finished wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its reapplied finish with general wear and handling marks. Grips have a few handling marks as well. Bore is clean overall with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
