Inland M1 carbine semi automatic rifle. Made winter/spring of 1945. Inland division barrel dated "1-45". "P" proof mark before the band. No import mark found. Inland marked rear sight. Front sight is un-marked. Inland marked band/bayonet lug, slide and trigger housing. Bolt is IBM marked. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. This gun sits in an original M1A1 Paratrooper folding stock. Stock marked "IO" in the slide channel. "P" firing proof on the front of the pistol grip. Rivets are from a rebuild operation, each marked "7/4" on the heads. Butt plate is marked "B257614" followed by a "(sunburst)" and "4". Stock has its original light oil finish. Handguard is absent, as is the leather check piece and oiler. Includes attached post war sling, un-marked green canvas mag pouch and two Inland marked blued steel 15rd magazines. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Stock has handling marks, dents and scratches. The right side of the stock has a splotch of dried lacquer. Bore is shiny with sharp rifling. Magazines are excellent. Sling and mag pouch have some discoloration and wear. JWA
