German "dot" code G.33/40 bolt action "Mountain Carbine".. Made 1941 at the Brunn factory in Czechoslovakia. Left side of the receiver is marked "G.33/40". There is a small export stamp "GERMANY" on the bottom of the trigger guard. Matching serials on the receiver, bolt and stock. Floor plate and trigger guard are not numbered. "(eagle)/63" and "(eagle)/WaA63" proofs on the right side of the chamber. Bolt has an "(eagle)/63" Waffenamt on the bas of the handle. Colt knob is correctly scalloped out. Stock has various "(eagle)/63" and "(eagle)/WaA63" stamps as well, including nice crisp ones on the right side of the stock. Standard hooded barleycorn front sight with rear tangent adjustable to 1,000 meters. Factory military blued finish on the metal components. Wood retains its original light oil finish. Cupped metal butt plate and iconic metal "boot plate" on the left side of the stock. Includes some consignor research on the rifle. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% or more of its original finish with some light wear. Stock has a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is shiny with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. A great example of a desirable rifle. JWA
