Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. Made 1905. Standard patent dates on the top of the barrel. Left side is marked "NICKEL STEEL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER". Winchester proofs on the barrel and chamber. Standard markings on the tang. Octagon barrel with brass blade front sight and original buck horn style rear. Factory blued finish wearing to a silver patina in most areas. Tang is drilled and has a screw in it. Oil finished wood stock and forearm. Crescent metal butt plate. Includes consignor research. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish, with most areas forming a silver/gray patina. Some areas of cleaned pitting are present. Stock has some dings, scratches and dents. There is a 2 - 1/2" crack on both sides of the stock, near the toe. Forearm is solid with no visible cracks. Bore is frosted with some light pitting. Good overall rifling retained. Mechanically fine.
