Circa 1967. This Belgian made 28 gauge boxlock is fit 28" nitro proof blued steel barrels that are built with ejectors and 2 -3/4" chambers. Barrels are choked Full (top) and Modified (bottom). The ribs consists of a solid side rib and a machined tapered ventilated top rib with white front and middle sight beads. Right side of the top barrel reads "SPECIAL STEEL - 28 GAUGE - SHELLS 2 3/4" PATENTS NO. 2203378 - 2233861". Left side of the top barrel reads "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO & MONTREAL P.Q. MADE IN BELGIUM". The breech end of barrels have the serial number "1708F7", "*" and "**". The coin finish action with golden single mechanical trigger is engraved with a total of 4 pigeons in flight (2 each side of the action body) with supporting scroll and oak leaves on action's fences. Coin finish top lever with checkered thumb piece is also scroll engraved. The safe slide is serrated and also functions as the barrel selector. In gold surrounding the safe slide are the letters "S" ahead of the safe slide, "O" to the right and "U" to the left. Gun is non-auto safe. The trigger is protected by a lightly scroll engraved trigger guard. The honey-color walnut stock is furnished with 2 checkered panels, round knob pistol grip, and a burgundy color Old English rubber recoil pad. Game forend with 2 checkered panels and an engraved coin finish Browning latch release. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels with approximately 90% blue with slight rubbing on the bottom barrel from forend. Action, ejectors, and trigger are sound, barrels tight. Stock and forend with some handling marks. (CP)
