Built 1898 this 12 guage boxlock with 28" nitro prooved (1977) blued steel sleeved barrels are built with ejectors and 2 - 1/2" chambers. Barrel rib is filed, flat top, and tapered with a round small steel front bead sight. Rib with extension reads "CHARLES BOSWELL MAKER . 126 STRAND . LONDON . W.C.". Chokes are Modified and Modified. The coin finished action with double triggers is scroll engraved with "CHARLES BOSWELL" engraved at top of walls. Blacked action bottom is also scroll engraved. Blacked top lever with checkered thumb piece is also scroll engraved. The safe slide is serrated and the word "SAFE" is in gold. Gun is non-auto safe. Triggers are protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard with scrolls extending to a long bottom strap with scrolls and the gun's serial number "13000" engraved. The deep reddish-brown English walnut stock with beautiful marbling is furnished with 2 checkered panels, drop points, and an English straight hand grip. Buttstock also fit with vacant gold oval and serrated butt. Splinter forend with fine checkering and Anson-styled release. Iron metal is engraved with scrolls and interior metals are blacked. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with approximately 90% blue left from sleeving. Some silvering at muzzle and handling marks are present. Barrels are loose. Action, ejectors, and triggers are sound. Stock with some handling marks. Bottom strap slightly proud of wood. Forend with handling marks and some bruising to checkering.
