Circa 1898. A 12 bore game gun with 27" blued nitro prooved sleeved barrels. Barrels have 2 - 1/2' chambers, extractors, flat top filed tapered rib with extension, and small round steel front bead sight. Chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. The coin finished side plated boxlock built on the Anson and Deeley patent is auto-safe with "SAFE" in gold is built with bladed double triggers. Top lever is blacked with scroll engraving and checkered thumbpiece. Action built with side clips, cross bolt, and engraving is of various scrolls and "CHARLES BOSWELL" is engraved on walls and coverage matches. Water tables are stamped "ANSON & DEELEY'S PATENT 11616" 12161 and BNP under crown. Medium brown walnut stock with muted grain is furnished with drop points, fine checkered pommel (semi-pistol) round knob grip, vacant gold oval, and newer thin orange rubber pad. Dark brown splinter forend with fine checkering, Anson styled release has scroll engraved exterior iron metal. CONDITION: Very Good. Barrels retain 75% re-blue from sleeving. Bores are shiny. Rib with some filing buffed out from sleeving. Action is tight on face and functions properly. Case colors are faint. Triggers operate well. Stock with slight handling marks. Gun could possible be benefitting from an earlier refurb or re-stock. Forend with light handling marks and possible repair near iron metal on right. CP
