Second Generation Single Action Army revolver manufactured by Colt in 1957. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL", with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Features include a blued 5 - 1/2" barrel, blued trigger guard & grip straps, case colors frame, standard Single Action Army pattern front and rear sights, as well as 2-piece Colt checkered black plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cylinder, and grip straps, with the grips matching via a hand scribed number. Assembly number is matching on the rear of the frame and on the loading gate. CONDITION: Extremely fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory applied finishes, exhibiting only a few small marks from handling and storage overall. Frame retains vibrant case coloring overall, with a few superficial handling and storage marks. Cylinder bears a few extremely faint dragline, but is otherwise unmarked. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show very light smoothing overall, with a few minor nicks to the diamonds. An very nice example of a Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver. MLW
