Hall M1840 Type III percussion carbine with 21" round barrel in .52 caliber with dovetailed notched rear sight and blade front. "Fishtail" opening mechanism for breech on bottom near trigger guard and full length saddle ring bar with saddle ring on left side of receiver. 1 piece plain walnut stock in 2 barrel band configuration with flat military style buttplate. CONDITION: Good, as heavily cleaned with a protective brown finish added with consistent age related freckling throughout. Manufacturer mark and manufacturing date are no longer present. Stock has been sanded and refinished with no cartouches visible, large splice repair on left side of stock near buttplate, and handling marks throughout. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright near breech with heavy abrasion near muzzle and visible rifling. TON
