Second Generation Single Action Army Revolver manufactured by Colt in the first year of the Second Generation production. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 45", with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Features include a case colored frame, blued 5 - 1/2" barrel, standard Single Action Army pattern front & rear sights, blued trigger guard & backstrap, as well as 2-piece Colt checkered black plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, grip straps, as well as the grips, which are hand-scribed to match on their interiors. Matching assembly numbers are present on the rear of the frame and loading gate. Revolver is accompanied by an original factory box containing an original hangtag and manual. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some wear through to gray on the grip straps as well as a light dragline and some handling marks on the cylinder. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show a couple handling marks and a few minor nicks to the diamonds. Factory cardboard box is excellent, showing some light external wear from storage and handling, but is otherwise fine. A very attractive example of a first year production Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver. MLW
