Winchester Model 1917 bolt action rifle. Made 1918. "W" marked barrel with a flaming bomb and dated "3-18". Standard markings on the receiver. "Flaming bomb" on the left side of the receiver. Bolt is "R" marked. Rear sight is "E" marked, as is the stock. Left side of the stock has a boxed "C-S.A.A." arsenal rebuild cartouche. Bottom of the wrist has a circled "P" under a boxed "P" firing proof. Standard blade front sight and rear adjustable peep. Original military blued finish. Stock has a light oil finish. Includes attached unmarked leather sling. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with general wear. Stock has a few handing marks and scratches. Bore is lightly frosted, but retains crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Sling has wear and crazing. JWA
