Third Generation Single Action Army manufactured by Colt in 1976. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 SPECIAL", with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Features include a blued 7 - 1/2" barrel, blued trigger guard & grip straps, case colored frame, standard Single Action Army pattern front and rear sights, as well as 2-piece Colt checkered black plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, and grip straps, with the grips matching via a hand-scribed number on the interior of the panels. Cylinder appears to bear a factory error, with multiple over-stamped and additional numbers present. Revolver is accompanied by its matching factory box containing its styrofoam insert. Also included is the original factory manuals and paperwork. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few handling marks overall that show through to silvering. Frame retains strong case colors, also exhibiting a few marks from handling and storage that show through to light silvering. Cylinder bears no drag line. Mirror bore, with well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Box shows some exterior wear, with several tears on the end panel corners, but it otherwise fine. MLW
