Marlin Model 1895 lever action magazine rifle with several special order features made by Marlin Firearms Company, New Haven, Connecticut circa 1900. Gun is in .45 caliber but is unmarked as to what chambering. Blued full octagon barrel with Marlin address and patent dates, pedestal blade front sight, plugged rear seat, and special Smokeless blued receiver peep sight mounted on top of action. Special order takedown case hardened action marked Marlin Safety on top. Checkered walnut special order pistol grip stock with case hardened crescent steel buttplate. Checkered walnut forearm with blued nosepiece. CONDITION: 90% fading blue with light edge wear. Action has faded to a silvery-brown patina with carry and handling discoloration. 70% original varnish with checkering starting to wear flat and numerous dings and scratches. Excellent bore with somewhat sticky mechanics. DLM
