Manufactured 1974 as per serial number. Blade front sight with Elliason adjustable rear sight on serrated rib. Left side of slide with "COLT'S MK IV / SERIES '70 / GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH / .45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER" legend next to Rampant Colt. Right side with "GOLD CUP / NATIONAL MATCH" next to trophy. Right side frame with Colt's Hartford rollmark and serial number. Appropriate proofs on trigger guard. Fully checkered grips with Colt medallions in center. Small parts comprise serrated narrow hammer, left side only safety, slide release, Gold Cup skeletonized trigger, magazine release. Long 1911A1 grip safety, flat serrated mainspring housing, and serrated front strap. Correct Colt 8 round magazine with "COLT / 45 AUTO / 8-RD" with rampant Colt. Accompanied by Colt wood grain box with end label identifying this gun in current configuration by serial number. Styrofoam liner with Colt paperwork packet (folded in half long ago) and hangtag. Extra styrofoam liner included. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory blue finish with some extremely minor marks from handling and storage. Some very minor spots of silvering are visible under the slide release (with a very faint takedown mark), and on underside of hammer. Grip safety is pluming slightly. Some marks from reciprocation on rear of trigger. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Box is excellent with some peeling of end label and very minor age related distress. This is a top quality example that would be nearly impossible to improve upon. EMW
