Circa 1947. This .410 gauge shotgun is fit with a 28" round blued steel barrel that is built with a 3" chamber, steel front sight bead, and Full choke. Right side of barrel reads "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PAT. NO. 1912403-1969255". The left side of the barrel reads "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL MODEL 42 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK .410-3 IN. CHAM. FULL" Blued receiver with cross bolt safety. Serial number "56180" on bottom of receiver towards barrel (barrel has matching serial number just forward of where barrel and receiver meet). Straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with horn "Winchester Repeating Arms Co" buttplate and early style walnut corn cob forend. CONDITION: Excellent. Gun appears to be like new. Barrel retains 95% blue. Bottom tube with rub marks from forend when cycling action. Receiver retains 98% blue. Stock and forend have light handling and storage marks. (CP)
