Soviet Russian Tula Arsenal SKS semi automatic rifle. Made 1953 at the Tula Arsenal. Typical Russian proofs on the chamber area. Gun was arsenal refurbished at some point. Tula star and "1954" on the left side of the stock. Import marked on the right side of the receiver, with the importer applied serial number as well. Matching serials on the receiver, bolt, carrier, dust cover, magazine (forced matched), trigger group and stock (forced match). Standard barrel with a hooded post front sight and rear tangent adjustable to 1,000 meters. Blued finish on the metal components, including the bayonet. Stock was arsenal refinished at some point as well. Handguard is laminate, with the stock being hard wood. Metal trapdoor butt plate with cleaning kit. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finish with light wear on the handling marks. Wood has a few handling marks. Chrome lined bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
