A very nice example of a Smith and Wesson Model 1917 double action revolver chambered in .45 ACP and manufactured in October of 1918. Blued square butt "N" frame with plain walnut grips, lanyard ring and pinned round barrel with fixed front sight and rear notch cut into top of frame. Left side of barrel stamped "S.&W. D.A. 45" and under the barrel stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Bottom of grip is stamped "U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917 NO 128613. US ordnance flaming bomb stamped on top left side of frame. Four eagle head assistant inspector marks throughout with numbers "S1, S24, and S2". Eagle head stamp on barrel flat has no number. All matching serials on butt, cylinder face, barrel flat, yoke, and back of extractor star. CONDITION: Excellent overall condition with almost all the original bluing remaining. Handling marks and light scratches throughout. Very good bore and good mechanics. GFP
