A vintage game gun (ca.1891) with 32" brown Damascus steel barrels with non-ejectors and 2 - 1/2" chambers. Barrels concave filed rib with doll's head extension reads "PARKERS BROS MAKERS MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL". Rib with round steel front bead sight. Barrel flats stamped "PAT'D. APR 11.1876", "D","418","3". Rear lump stamped "2". Chokes are Full and Improved Modified. Grey patina boxlocked action is engraved with scrolls, dog hunting games scenes in vignettes, and reads "PARKER BROS" in banner. Bottom of action engraved with scrolls and with a scene of pheasants in a field. Action fit with double triggers, checkered top lever, checkered safe slide and is fit for the barrels doll's head extension. Water table with patent ID's, "3" over "65027", "D", "MAR. 16 1875". Straight grained walnut stock with drop points, narrow checkered pistol grip, silver oval and skeleton butt plate. Pistol grip with brown hard rubber grip cap. Trigger guard with scroll engraving and extends to a short bottom tang with guns serial number engraved "No 65027". Splinter forend with scroll engraved Deeley styled latch release and engraved steel tip. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with decent bores, slightly loose off face, have lost much of their Damascus brown patina and have various indentations. Action and triggers are sound. Action with traces of case colors remaining. Stock is good with handling marks. Forend with smooth checkering and handling marks. CP
