VLD marked large ring Mauser C96 semi automatic pistol with shoulder stock. Made circa 1905. Left side of the frame is marked "VON LENGERKE / & DETMOLD / NEW-YORK". Von Lengerke was a goods importer and retailer that sold mostly German made products. Standard Oberndorf address on the chamber and right side of the frame. "(crown)/U" proofs on the chamber and bolt. Matching serials on the visible numbered components, including the magazine follower and grips. Standard round barrel with large blade front sight and rear tangent adjustable to 1,000 meters. Front sight has been pinned on. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Large distinctive hammer with a hole through it. Slotted for a shoulder stock and has a lanyard stud and ring present. Ring looks to be a replacement. 34 line oil finished wood grips. Left panel has "M.C.W" carved on the inside. Period stock being renumbered to match the gun. Stock was lightly refinished at some point. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some wear and brown patina forming. Grips have a few dings and scratches. Bore is frosted, but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Stock has wear, and shows multiple repaired cracks. Fits tight to the gun. JWA
