Japanese Toyo Kogyo Arsenal Type 99 Arisaka bolt action rifle. Series 31 rifle made early 1940s. Sharp Mum on the chamber. No import mark found. Matching serials on the receiver, dust cover and bolt/bolt components. Standard front sight and rear sight adjustable to 1,500 meters. Anti-aircraft wings are present. Original military blued finish on the metal components. 2 piece wood stock has its original light oil finish and has not been "gunny" cut. Smooth metal butt plate. Includes original leather sling and metal monopod. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear and some brown patina. Stock has handling marks, dents and scratches. Bore has some light frosting in the grooves. Good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. sling has wear and crazing, but is solid overall. A very nice and complete Type 99 for your collection. JWA
