Comprising: A) Horn-handled plug bayonet of 11" overall with a 6-1/4" tapered diamond section blade. Iron guard and turned horn grip with brass tack and bone tack decoration towards guard. Pommel cap is absent. CONDITION: Blade and guard retain a pleasing dark grey patina. Horn guard shows some wear. B) Horn-handled European plug bayonet with scabbard, measures 16-1/4" overall with a tapered double-edged blade of 11" with two deep fullers on each side. Brass guard and mounts with a turned horn grip. Scabbard is brown leather with iron mounts. CONDITION: Blade has been sharpened on edges and otherwise retains a grey patina. Brass mounts retain a pleasing mustard patina and horn grip shows crazing from age and is very good. Scabbard possibly ly associated, mounts show some cracking and losses, heavy pitting. A nice group of scarce plug bayonets. DMG
