This fine rifle is very high quality and is in crisp condition, probably made for a lady due to its small and slender proportions. The diminutive rifle features a browned fully octagonal barrel is smoothbore with a patent breech. It has a brass front half-moon sight and a buckhorn rear sight. The top flat is stamped "GOLCHER PHILADA". The flat stamp-engraved lockplate features scrolls and game scenes with pheasants at the tail. The center is stamped "Henry Parker / Warranted". There is a vacant silver oval-shaped wrist escutcheon as well as silver oval escutcheons on each side of the barrel key. There is a shaped and engraved brass escutcheon surrounding the single lock retaining screw. Rocker-panel engraved forend cap and two-pice patchbox with ornate foliate scrolls engraved on the lid. There brass triggerguard and toeplate are fully engraved en-suite, crescent buttplate plain with faceted tang. There is also a silver oval escutcheon with a rocker-panel-engraved border between the toeplate and back tang of triggerguard. The stock is of highly figured flame-grain walnut and features shaped checkered panels on both sides of the wrist. CONDITION: Extremely crisp and excellent overall. The barrel retains about 95-98% original brown finish. Lock mostly grey with traces of case hardened finish mostly turned to grey. Mechanism is crisp and functions well. All brass furniture is crisp and retains a pleasing mustard patina. Stock is excellent with a few light storage marks. DMG
