Remington Model 30-S Express bolt action rifle. Made 1930's from extra 1917 Enfield parts and factory made into a sporting rifle. The barrel is most likely a factory repair/replacement, with the date code indicating 1950. Left side of the chamber is marked "MODEL 30-S/Express/26551". Right side is marked with the Remington Logo. Ramped blade front sight with Lyman aperture rear. Barrel has a later blued finish (possibly re-blued at the factory). Receiver has its original blued finish turning a plum color. Rear sight and bolt handle has been re-finished. Wood stock has a light oil finish with factory checkering on the wrist and forearm. Factory pistol grip cap as well. Sling studs on both the fore stock and butt. Added rubber butt pad. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its finishes with light wear. Stock has a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
