Engraved Browning Grade III Trombone slide action rifle with case. This is a Browning (FN) custom shop takedown model gun. Made 1990 in Belgium. Left side of the barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q./MADE IN BELGIUM FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL". Belgium proofs on the frame. Grade III scroll engraving with dog/game scenes on both sides. Lower left of the frame is signed by the engraver, "C.BAERTEN". Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and u-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the barrel, with the frame being polished. Gloss finished wood stock with fine checkering on the wrist. Ribbed forearm being gloss finished as well. Smooth matte finished metal buttplate. Includes original hard case with manual and certificate of identification from the factory. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% or more of its original finish with little signs of handling. Wood is excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Case is excellent. Trombone rifles are very scarce in the U.S., let alone a Grade III engraved gun! JWA
