Model 1886 lever action rifle chambered in .45-70 Government manufactured by Browning. The left side of the barrel is stamped with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN JAPAN", followed by ".45-70 GOVT" towards the breech. Right side bears the model and caliber designations, with the top flat being stamped " 1 OF 3000". The left side of the receiver features scroll engraving on a crosshatched background, bordered by a light line and dot design that encompasses a wildlife scene of 2 gold inlaid elk. The right side features ensuite engraving with a small scene of a gold inlaid buffalo. Features include a blued 26" octagonal barrel, bead front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, as well as a checkered walnut buttstock & forearm. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finish, save for some small and scattered areas of oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Bolt face is excellent. Walnut furniture is excellent, showing a few superficial marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise fine. MLW
