Soviet Russian TULA SVT-38 semi automatic rifle. Made "1939" as marked on the chamber. Tula star and proofs present on the chamber as well. Boxed "SA" Finnish Army mark on the left side of the chamber. No import mark found. Mismatched serials throughout. Standard barrel and muzzle device. Front sight post is absent, but hood remains. Rear sight adjustable to 1,500 meters. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Stock has its original light oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate. cleaning rod present. Includes original 10rd magazine (not matching to the gun). CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with wear and a general brown patina forming in most areas. Stock has minor dings, scratches and gouges. Bore is heavily frosted, but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Brigadier General Theodore C. Mataxis who acquired it from a Russian forces occupying Berlin at the end of WW2 in trade for an American M1 Garand. Brought back by Ted Mataxis from WW2. JWA
