Custom German Mauser 98 spotter bolt action rifle. Receiver looks to be an early 1930's Standard Model, with the Oberndorf Address still visible. Typical commercial proofs on the left side of the receiver, and on the bolt. No import marks found. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver and bolt. Ramped blade front sight with an express style three position rear. Blued finish on the metal components. Under lever traps door release. Double set triggers. Top of the receiver is checkered to reduce glare. Mannlicher style wood stock has a light oil finish with checkering on the wrist, and a metal capped pistol grip. Smooth metal butt plate with "MAUSER" banner trapdoor. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its finish with light wear and some areas of graying patina. Wood has handling marks, dents and scratches. Bore is heavily frosted with fair rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
