Circa 1863-1875. A vintage Damascus steel smooth bore side by side shotgun with side lever. The 34" barrels are fit with extractors and a smooth concave rib with steel front bead sight. Rib faintly reads "W.W. GREENER ST. MARY'S WORKS BIRMINGHAM". Bottom of barrels and bottom tang with matching serial number "9870". Barrel flats with standard British proofs. English walnut with smooth checkered straight hand grip stock, vacant initial silver oval, and steel buttplate. Action with border scroll and engraved "W.W. Greener". Hammers are engraved and checkered. Sidelever is checkered. Splinter forend (Cross-Pin) with wedge fastener, smooth checkering and horn tip. CONDITION: Fair. Barrels retain approximately 30% original browning and bores have freckling. The action has a light patina to finish and triggers function. The checkering is worn from use on both the buttstock and forend. Left side of buttstock with crack. CP
