Manton of London, England circa 1850, back action Manton marked engraved locks controlled by double triggers in a large ring engraved steel trigger guard. 32 - 1/2" twist smoothbore steel barrels marked "LONDON" on top of smooth concave rib with bead front sight. Engraved hook breech with gold bands and platinum "LONDON" marked inlay. Fine figured English grip checkered stock with smooth steel buttplate, German silver dog inlay, and cap box on toe area of gun. Comes with brass tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: 40% fading twist pattern with balance a silvery patina. Locks turning a brown patina. Wood has old added coat of oil with usage marks and dings. Dark pitted bores with good mechanics. DLM
