Marlin Model 1893 lever action saddle ring carbine. Made 1902. 2 line company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel, all over "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL". "MARLIN SAFETY" on the top of the frame. "MODEL/1893" on the top of the tang. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Rear sight is not correct to the gun. Full length magazine tube. Stud and saddle ring are present. Metal components have their original blued finish, with the frame and lever being case colored. Wood has been lightly sanded and oiled at some point. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish, with most case coloring gone from the frame. Bluing is forming a brown patina in areas. Wood has wear, handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
