Of traditional shinogi zukuri form, measures 24 - 7/8" from kissaki to munemachi. No hada visible, but there is a very indistinct hamon. Some spots of acid etching, probably from a previous owner using something like vinegar to enhance the blade. Ubu nakago with single drilled mekugi ana and katte agari yasurime. Saya with single ashi. Traditional World War II Gunto mounts with tsuba with floral designs and locking piece on fuchi; koiguchi, koijiri, fuchi, and kashira (replaced with a more recent casting) with normal floral decorations on roe designs. Sarute replaced with a simple iron loop. Menuki in the form of chrysanthemums. CONDITION: Blade has been polished with some deep scratches to blade and a hagire that runs nearly to the shinogi. A few spots of minor darkness. Mounts are very good with some rubbing of gilding to copper base. Same has 1 tear. Saya is very good with some oxidation to fore edge. EMW
