Marlin Model 1893 Takedown lever action rifle. Made as a special order gun circa 1910s. 2 line company address and patent dates on top of the barrel in front of the rear sight. "MARLIN SAFETY" on the top of the frame. "30-30." on the chamber. "MODEL/1893" on the top tang. Half round, half octagon barrel with a half length magazine tube. German silver blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Frame is drilled for some kind of rear peep sight. Factory case colored frame and lever, with other parts retaining their original blued finish. Walnut stock with checkering on the wrist and forearm. Wood has been revarnished at some point. Checkered plastic butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finishes with light wear. Wood has a few scuffs and scratches, but is excellent overall. Bore is lightly frosted with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
