International Harvester M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle with CMP shipping box. Made 1954 with standard markings on the heel of the receiver. Proper LMR barrel dated "1-54" with typical proofs and DOD eagle stamp. No import marks found. Bolt, trigger group and gas plug are all marked "IHC". Operating rod is un-marked minus a drawing number. Standard blade front sight and adjustable rear. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. Wood lacks markings and looks to be later production. Light oil finish, with a trap door metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Wood has minor dings and scratches. Bore is lightly frosted, but rifling is strong. Muzzle reads at a one, throat at a zero. Mechanically fine. Sling and box are very good with light wear. JWA
