U.S. Marked Winchester Winder Musket single shot rifle. Made 1916. Typical 2 line address and patent dates on the barrel. Trade marks on the upper tang, with the serial number below. U.S. flaming bomb proof on the frame, behind the hammer. Winchester proofs on the barrel and frame. Blade front sight with factory installed Lyman peep rear. Rear sight has an aperture with held in by a nut. Original blued finish on the metal components. Wood has its original oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate. Original sling swivels. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with light wear. Some brown patina forming on the barrel. Wood has handling marks, dings and scratches. Bore has some minor pits, and there is a small ring about 10" in from the muzzle. Good overall rifling. Mechanically fine.
