Enfield No.1 MK IV" bolt action rifle. Socket is Enfield production and is dated "1910". "22" and "IV*" have been stamped on the right side of the socket as well. Chamber is marked "M.192/1948", in addition to having typical British military proofs. Faint cartouche on the right side of the stock. BSA marked barrel. Magazine is marked ".22" on the side, and retains its follower and spring. No import mark found. Matching serials on the receiver, barrel, fore stock and bolt. Standard blade front sight with correct rear peep. Rifle retains its original 2,000 yard ladder sight as well. Original blued finish with some light wear. Stock has a light oil finish. The volley sight hole has been filled in, and has been repaired at the top of the butt. Brass butt plate with trapdoor. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Fair amount of storage grease throughout the metal components. Stock has dings, scratches, and dents. Bore is clean with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
