Colt Iwo Jima Commemorative Government Model semi automatic pistol with box and case. Made 1992. Left side of the side is laser engraved with "IN HONOR OF THE INVASION OF IWO JIMA/11 NOVEMBER 1944 16 MARCH 1945". Barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO". Standard markings on the right side of the frame, with "WWIIIJ-066" etched. "VP" proof on the left side of the trigger guard. Standard blade front sight and u-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. White imitation ivory grips marked "ON IWO JIMA UNCOMMON VALOR WAS A COMMON VIRTUE" on the left panel. Colt World War Two 50th anniversary logo on the right. Blued steel seven round magazine. Includes an extra set of grips, USMC embellished dog tags, blue hard case, cardboard sleeve and painted green wood display case made to look like an ammunition crate. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% of its finish with little signs of use. Both sets of grips are excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Looks to be unfired from the factory. Magazine, case, and box are excellent. JWA
