3rd Model saddle ring carbine manufactured circa 1882. 20" round barrel chambered in the classic .44-40 cartridge with 2-line Winchester address and full length magazine tube. Blade front sight and ladder rear. Blued receiver with saddle ring. Plain walnut forend and stock with iron barrel bands and carbine butt plate with tool compartment. CONDITION: Traces of factory blue retained with balance a silvery brown patina. Cartridge elevator exhibits mustard patina with caliber marking faint. Wood has dark appearance. Stock lightly sanded and has some impressions. Dark bore with well defined rifling. Action cycles appropriately. BAS
