Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle. Made 1879. 2 line company address/patent dates on the barrel, in front of the rear sight. "MODEL 1873" marked on the upper tang. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and replacement buckhorn style v-notch rear. Full length magazine tube. Original blued finish on the metal components. Original dust cover present. Wood stock and forearm have a lightly reapplied finish. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its finishes with general wear and brown patina forming in most areas. Stock has handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with a few minor pits. Good rifling retuned. Mechanically fine. JWA
