US M1822/28 flintlock musket manufactured by A. Waters in 1833. 42 - 5/8" round barrel in .69 caliber smoothbore with no provision for rear sight and integral blade front on Charleville front barrel band. Barrel is marked with deep "C" condemnation marking on left side and bears no US markings or proofs. Single piece plain stock in 3 barrel band musket configuration with US marked military buttplate. Cartouche oval is present on left side of stock opposite lock but is not legible. CONDITION: Good with barrel tuned a dark gray patina with heavy age related freckling throughout. Barrel tang appears to have stretched at one point as a repair. Stock is good as sanded and finish added with large repaired crack through wrist near barrel tang and crack near lock. Mechanically good with hammer loose. Bore is dark. TON
