Sharps Model 1863 lever action breechloading single shot percussion rifle with 30" round barrel in .52 caliber with pinned iron blade front sight, and Lawrence rifle rear sight graduated to 800 yards. 2 piece walnut stock and forearm with iron mountings in 3 barrel band setup complete with military buttplate and implement compartment (compartment is empty). Martial sub-inspector markings can be found on barrel, lever, lower tang, breechblock, barrel bands, and implement compartment. "M.N.M" marking can be found on left of barrel as well as stock near top tang of buttplate. Forearm bears "T.W.R." marking. Stock bears 2 "T.W.R." cartouches on left side near wrist. Blued barrel with case hardened action. CONDITION: Very good, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining on barrel with bluing beginning to turn to a blue-brown patina with age related handling and storage marks throughout. Barrel bands and nose cap have turned a dove gray patina. Stock and forearm are very good and strong with scattered handling marks. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is lightly frosted with abrasion throughout and crisp rifling. TON
