Chinese AKS-762 semi-automatic rifle manufactured by Polytech in Beijing for U.S. commercial sales and imported KFS in Atlanta, GA. The left side of the receiver bears a "386" within an oval Shenzhen factory code above stampings stipulating the model, caliber, and manufacturer information, with the bottom of the receiver bearing the importer's information. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, upper handguard, bolt carrier, and bolt. Features include a 16 - 1/4" chrome lined barrel, AK-47 pattern muzzle nut, standard AK pattern sights, side-folding buttstock, as well as red bakelite upper and lower handguards, grip, and cheek rest fitted on either side of the side-folding stock. Complete with one additional unmarked 30-round magazine and a canvas sack. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some scattered handling marks that show through to silvering, as well as some spots of oxidation. Bottom of receiver appears to have been touched up at some point in time over the importer stamp. Bore is bright, showing some built up firing residue and retains well defined rifling throughout. Bakelite furniture is excellent, showing few minor cosmetic handling marks overall as well as a small spot of discoloration on the right side of the lower handguard. An extremely attractive and desirable Polytech AKS-762 side-folding rifle. MLW
