Lot consist of: (A) Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle. Made 1913. Two line company address and patent dates on the left side of the barrel. Caliber marked on the chamber. Faint Winchester proofs on the frame and barrel. Model markings and trademark on the upper tang. Octagon steel barrel with blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Full length magazine tube. Original blued finish on the metal components. Wood stock and forearm have a reapplied varnished finish. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% or less of its original finish, with most areas forming a heavy brown patina. Wood has handling marks and scratches. There are numerous chips around the bottom tang. Bore is heavily frosted with fair rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. Made 1905. Two line company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. Model and trademark on the top of the tang. Winchester proofs on the frame and barrel. Part round, part octagon barrel looks to have been cut at some point. Blade front sight with a Lyman Model 21 rear receiver sight. 3/4 length magazine tube. Metal components have their original blued finish. Wood has been sanded and lacquered. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with general wear and some brown patina staring to form. Wood has handling marks and scratches. End cap looks to be a replacement. Bore is frosted with fair rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
