December 14-17, 2021 Collectible Firearms & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/15/2021
Lot contains two functional wooden stocks/holsters for the C96 Mauser Broomhandle pistol: one is original and the other is a reproduction. One is numbered "979" (the reproduction) and the other "862". Both exhibit the usual scattered light scratches and dings, with the metal fittings retaining 60-65% of their blued finish. The reproduction has a newer wood with several quarter plugged areas, and a two-inch crack between the side screw and the lid release. Lot also contains two leather harness assemblies. The one with the cleaning rod attached has moderate wear and is marked "A. WUNDERLICH NACHE, BERLIN" and the second example has light wear and is marked "Industriegruppe 1, STUTTGART, 1918" and the military corps marking of "BAXIV". The later example also has "Capt. Charles M. Coe" written on the leather, presumably the veteran who brought the harness home. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent. WEZ
